Meet Ms.Lily – a ladies’ bag series born and bred in Toyooka City, one of Japan’s leading bag production destinations for over a thousand years. Inspired by women’s unique perspective on style, practicality and versatility, the brand set out to develop a daily accessory to fit casual settings, professional needs, and everything in between.
Made in collaboration with a collective of Japanese influencers who took part in planning, designing and determining the products’ functionalities, the co-creation project launched by the brand was to ensure that each bag met the actual needs of women. Some scenarios that were taken into consideration include “a bag that can take you from the entrance ceremony in school to your first day of job hunting” to having a work-and-play compatibility that fits “any turning point in a woman’s life”.
Even the size, structure and logic behind each compartment that went into the bag designs also underwent an extensive planning process, proving the brand’s commitment to detail made possible by the input of their influencer collaborators. Ms.Lily’s various bag styles also come with their own range of colours to suit everyone’s preference, which was also decided upon in the co-creation stage. This is to ensure that the colourway for each style has a solid basis for its choice – from outfit coordination to the mood and occasion – down to the shade of each metal fitting.
